The percentage of instructors who are full time is one measure of overall academic and financial health of a given institution. In general, colleges and universities that employ more adjunct and part-time instructors are seen as less desirable as these faculty are often paid less and only work limited hours in their academic roles. But, this ranking is not always a strong indicator of academic quality.
