UPenn has eleven college houses, each with their own community. Students are invited to live with peers that have similar interests, academic and extracurricular, and each house offers tutoring, technology, facilities, resources, and programming. The dorms can hold 6316, but students are not required to live on campus.

Part of the Ivy Group athletic conference, 952 athletes participate in 33 varsity teams. Since 2000, the school has won over 60 titles and produced over 200 Olympic athletes since 1900. The teams also have a hundred-member band to help rally the fans through trying times. For those interested, the school also offers several intramural and club sports.

Penn makes it extremely easy for students to gain the funding and support they need for new clubs on campus. Currently, there are 450 student groups in art, culture, social, recreation, and more. Students can also head to the major library on campus, Van Pelt or take part in one of the many school services: employment assistance, placement assistance, and academic career counseling.

Resting in the heart of Philadelphia, students are invited to take in the cultural and historical aspects of the city. Delicious food is available at several nearby locations including the student-run William’s Cafe or Philly cheesesteaks on Spruce Street. The city also offers museums, galleries, entertainment, and the famous South Street.
