College Raptor ranks the most affordable best colleges for B students based on the average estimated loan payment as percentage of typical starting salary. This metric represents the estimated percentage of a student's expected starting monthly income that would be required to repay their projected student loans within 10 years. It communicates the proportion of monthly income taken up by loan repayment. The metric is calculated using College Raptor College Match scenarios for students with a 3.0 GPA living in New York City or Los Angeles, and whose parents earn $50,000, $100,000, or $150,000 annually. Only colleges ranked in the top 50 percent of our overall rankings are considered.
