What is the Minecraft Scholarship?
The Minecraft Scholarship is an award that helps students weave together their passion for Minecraft with their education and career goals. Hosted by Apex Hosting LLC, a site for Minecraft server hosting, the organization has long had a history of working with educational institutions and libraries to help with educational programs, projects, and more.
In order to enter to win the $2,000 award, you must submit an essay of at least 500. The student must give their opinion on how Minecraft could be (or is) a positive influence on their education, intended career, and development. It’s definitely a unique way of thinking about the video game!
The application will also ask for your full name, in game name, email, and GPA. The money can be put towards your tuition.
Who is Eligible for the Minecraft Scholarship?
United States citizens that are either currently enrolled in high school or college can apply for the award. However, you must also have a GPA of at least 3.0. Students should also play the game as your “in game name” is a required part of the application, but it is not listed as a requirement.
