Hinduism is a minority religion in the United States. Reportedly 1% of American citizens practice Hinduism. Thankfully, some organizations want to help this less-recognized group of students pursue their educational goals and provide scholarships for them.
SVS (Balaji) Temple of Greater Chicago

This scholarship helps students and their families. Two students receive a scholarship, and the money distributes itself over four years.
Students must complete and mail in an application with appropriate materials, submit letters of recommendation, and potentially participate in a phone interview. Students must be in an accredited college program, maintain a B average, and have no prior criminal record.
The Hindu Temple Educational Scholarship Program
Amount: $1,000
Deadline: June 30
This scholarship helps strengthen the growth of the Hindu Temple community. Students must be from a membership family of the Hindu Temple, and can only use the scholarship on tuition and books.
Applicants must be in their senior year of high school, with plans to attend a 2 or 4-year institution. Students must have a minimum 3.00 GPA, submit letters of recommendation and an essay about academic goals and future plans, and have volunteer experience at Hindu Temple events.
Science and Sanatan Dharma Scholarship

Four winners will be awarded this scholarship from the Coalition of Hindu Youth. The scholarship is to be used for enrollment at a 2 or 4-year institution.
