ROTC
The Department of Military Science at Wofford awards scholarships to the most outstanding applicants. In keeping with our high standards of excellence, candidates are selected for scholastic as well as extracurricular accomplishments and not on the basis of financial need. Scholarship benefits are awarded in annual amounts for full tuition and fees. In addition to the awarded scholarship, each winner receives a flat rate of $1,200 annually for books and supplies, as well as a tax-free monthly stipend of $300 as a first-year student, $350 as a sophomore, $450 as a junior and $500 as a senior. The four-year scholarship is awarded to students starting college as a freshman. The student must have a minimum 1,000 SAT or composite 19 ACT, but selection is highly competitive, and these are the minimum scores. In addition, he/she must have good high school cumulative unweighted grade point average (generally 3.5 or higher) and be admitted into Wofford as a full-time student. Additional consideration is given to students who demonstrate leadership potential in extracurricular activities such as athletics, religious organizations, Boy or Girl Scouting or a part-time job. The deadline for four-year scholarship applications is Jan. 15 of the applicant’s senior year in high school.
