Amount: Up To $1,000 Description: The Loether Memorial Social Research Scholarship was established in his honor to support Sociology students engaged in scholarly research activities. Herman J. Loether died of cancer on March 25, 2011. Dr. Loether, emeritus and founding faculty member of the sociology department at CSUDH, was greatly respected by his colleagues and his many students. Requirements: Applicant must be a Sociology major, undergrad junior or senior, or graduate student, in good standing with the university. Applicant must be enrolled for the upcoming spring semester, and must be actively engaged in sociological research (e.g. involvement in the UCRC, Sociology 302 or 502, or other research activities with Sociology faculty at CSUDH). Applicant must have commitment to continuing education and attaining a graduate professional degree. 0
