Community Council of Idaho, Inc. Scholarship Fund

Amount: $1,000

Deadline: May 22, 2020

Created to go to first-time post-secondary students, this scholarship is perfect for Idaho students seeking higher education. CC Idaho is all about improving the community through education.

Eligible students must: be a resident of Idaho, have a minimum 2.5 GPA or a GED diploma, be a first-time applicant, and pursue an academic or vocational course of study.

Idaho Governor’s Cup Scholarship

Amount: $3,000 (renewable)

Deadline: April 15, 2020 (Career Technical Education); (Academic) TBD for 2021-2022 (Opens November 1, 2020)

For Idaho-residents looking to attend an Idaho college/university, this scholarship is a great opportunity. Renewable up to four years for academic scholars, and three years for professional-technical students, this scholarship puts a lot of emphasis on community volunteer work. Students who submit evidence of their public service will be given higher consideration.

To apply, students must: be a graduating Idaho senior, apply to an Idaho college/university, have a GPA of 2.8 or above, provide SAT/ACT scores, and write a 500-word essay about their goals.

Idaho Opportunity Scholarship

Amount: Varies (renewable)

Deadline: TBD for 2021-2022 (Opens October 1, 2020)

The motive behind this scholarship is for Idaho to have a well-educated workforce. As such, this renewable aid is available to academic achievers in financial need.

Eligible students must: be a resident of Idaho, graduate from an Idaho high school or have a GED from Idaho, have a GPA of 2.7 or higher, file the FAFSA, enroll at an approved Idaho college, maintain satisfactory grades during undergraduate courses.

Armed Forces and Public Safety Officer Scholarship

Amount: Waiver of fees and up to $500 per semester

Deadline: No deadline

This scholarship is for the dependents of fallen or permanently disabled members of the armed forces or public safety officers. Details of qualifications are available on their website. The scholarship will provide a waiver of fees and $500 per semester for books and other expenses.

There are different circumstances of eligibility depending on if the applicant is the spouse of the military member / public safety officer or if they are the child. The overlapping requirements include: being an Idaho resident and enrolling in an approved Idaho college/university.

Mike Crapo Math and Science Scholarship Fund

Amount: Varies (renewable)

Deadline: March 15

For students intending to major in a math or science field, this one is for you. This scholarship is meant for those passionate about pursuing a higher education, who are involved in their community, and who excel in academics.

To be eligible, students must: be a resident of Idaho, majoring in a math or science field, enroll as a freshman at an Idaho college/university, have and maintain a GPA of 3.0 or higher, submit two letters of recommendation.

ISBA Scholarship Program

Amount: $1,000

Deadline: March 15 (annually)

For those interested in a career in broadcasting, the ISBA offers this general scholarship. The application requires a number of supplemental materials, including a letter of recommendation from the General Manager of an ISBA station, an essay about career plans, and school transcripts.

To be eligible, students must: enroll at an Idaho college/university full-time, have a 2.0 or higher GPA in the first two years of school and a 2.5 or higher GPA in the final two years, exhibit potential to study broadcasting.
