Association for Iron and Steel Technology Scholarships
Amount: $3,000-$6,000
Deadline: October 31, 2020
For those of you interested in the iron and steel industry, this scholarship is for you. AIST offers two types of financial aid awards. The first is a $6,000 scholarship and paid summer internship. The second is a $3,000 scholarship for tuition and living costs. The scholarship awards a student majoring in one of the following: metallurgy, materials science, electrical, mechanical, industrial, or environmental engineering, and computer science.
To qualify for this scholarship, students must meet a few requirements. That includes: be a freshman, sophomore, or junior at a four-year undergraduate program, be enrolled full-time, have at minimum a 2.5 GPA, submit an essay, a few recommendation letters, and also complete the application.
Cognizant Making the Future Scholarship
Amount: $5,000
Deadline: April 15, 2020
Technology is a thing that dominates our lives, and enhances it! But rather than just being passive consumers, Cognizant wants to inspire the next generation of makers. This scholarship encourages students who wish to pursue a degree in a STEM field.
To apply, a student must meet the requirements. That includes: be a citizen or permanent resident of the US, be able to enroll (or are enrolled) at an accredited two or four-year university/college, be interested in a STEM career, and also have at least a 2.5 GPA.
Betty Stevens Frecknall Scholarship
Amount: Varies
Deadline: May 2020
Betty Stevens Frecknall was one of few women in systems analytics and always advocated for gender equality in the workforce. To honor her, the Better Stevens Frecknall Scholarship awards a student majoring in computer science to help them continue their education. Interested students need at least a 3.0 major GPA and has completed one full semester of college.
Google Lime Scholarship for Students with Disabilities
Amount: $10,000
Deadline: TBD for 2021
Believing that information should be universally accessible, Google has partnered up with the non-profit disability organization Lime. They provide scholarships to students with disabilities who are also interested in computer science or computer engineering. Canadian students can also apply!
To qualify, a student must meet a few requirements. That includes: be a graduate, undergraduate, or Ph.D. student enrolled at an accredited university, be enrolled full-time, be maintaining academic excellence, have either a visible or invisible disability (as defined on their site), demonstrate leadership qualities, have a passion for computers.
