1. THE HERBERT LEHMAN EDUCATION FUND SCHOLARSHIP

Award Amount: $3,000

Deadline: April 1

The Herbert Lehman Education Fund strives to provide financial support to talented undergraduate students so they may successfully complete their bachelor’s degree. This highly competitive scholarship is awarded to applicants who have strong academic records, are involved in extracurricular activities, and receive recommendations for their character from teachers or employers. Eligible candidates for this scholarship include graduating seniors, first-year college students, or those transitioning to a four-year institution.

2. GIRL UP STEM SCHOLARSHIP

Award Amount: $10,000

Deadline: April 1

This scholarship is for any woman who is pursuing a STEM career. Girl Up is a youth-centered leadership initiative that is focused on creating equitable spaces for women everywhere. Applicants who represent underrepresented backgrounds (race, nationality, socio-economic status, religion, ability) are especially encouraged to apply.

3. OXSTEM EDUCATIONAL SCHOLARSHIP

Award Amount: $5,000

Deadline: April 4

Eligible applicants for this scholarship opportunity must be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program at a historically black college or university (HBCU), with a minimum GPA of 3.0. Candidates must be pursuing a degree in a STEM field. To apply, submit a 400-600 word essay detailing why you are interested in STEM and how you will use it to make a positive impact in the lives of others.

4. COLLEGE JUMPSTART SCHOLARSHIP

Award Amount: $1,000

Deadline: April 15

The College JumpStart program was started as a way to help those who love learning pay for their learning. It can be used for any related educational expense, including tuition, room and board, or textbooks. If you are looking for ways to help pay for college, this scholarship might be for you!

The eligibility requirements are straightforward:

  • You must be planning to enter college in the next 12 months
  • You must be a US citizen
  • You must fill out the required personal statement
  • Financial need, grades, or test scores are not considered

5. OPTIMIST INTERNATIONAL ESSAY CONTEST

Award Amount: $2,500

Deadline: April 15

This essay contest allows students to express their perspectives on the world. This year’s topic for this is “Optimism: How It Connects Us.” Students must be under the age of 19 and apply through their local Optimist Club. The scoring is based on organization, vocabulary and style, grammar and punctuation, and adherence to the contest rules.

6. JOEL POLSKY PRIZE

Award Amount: $5,000

Deadline: April 22

The Joel Polsky Prize is awarded annually by the ASID Foundation to honor exceptional contributions to interior design through print or digital communication. Submissions should cover topics such as educational research, behavioral science, business practices, design processes, theories, or technical subjects. Entries should be in the form of publication or visual communication, submitted with a 250 word description, along with a copy of the work, a brief biographical statement, and a headshot.

7. (S)E.L.F MADE SCHOLARSHIP

Award Amount: $5,000

Deadline: April 24

E.l.f. Cosmetics is awarding up to $25,000 in scholarships. Applicants must be at least 18 years old, a US citizen, and enrolled as an undergraduate. Candidates will submit a short essay answering the question: “We believe in the importance of empowering and uplifting every e.l.f. in the room—and we work hard to do that every day. How will this scholarship help you empower yourself and people around you?”

8. ALL ABOUT EDUCATION SCHOLARSHIP

Award: $3,000

Deadline: April 30

Any student who resides in the U.S. and is 14 or older is eligible to apply for this scholarship. In 250 words or less, applicants will need to answer the following question with a creative, original response: “How will a $3,000 scholarship for education make a difference in your life?”
