Georgia College Grants
1. HOPE Scholarship
The HOPE scholarship is a merit-based award for Georgia students. The award amount varies depending on the school the individual attends, but, in order to be eligible, the student must:
- Have a GPA
- Be attending a Georgia college and university that is participating in the program
- Have at least a 3.0 GPA upon graduating high school
- Maintain a 3.0 GPA in college
- If eligible, complete the Selective Service registration requirements
2. Zell Miller Scholarship
Similar to the HOPE scholarship, the Zell Miller Scholarship has higher academic achievements required in order to be eligible and award amounts will vary depending on the school the individual is attending.
Students must have a 3.7 GPA when graduating high school and a minimum 1200 on the SAT or 26 on the ACT. A 3.30 GPA in college is also required to remain eligible.
3. Georgia College Completion Grant (GCCG)
For students who are currently attending the University System of Georgia (USG), Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG), or another eligible private institution and in need of financial assistance in order to continue to afford a higher education, there is the GCCG. It is designed for students who are 80% done with their required credits for a degree, but need assistance to cover the financial gap.
Those who are awarded the GCCG can receive up to $2,500. To be eligible, students need to:
- Complete their Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
- Be an undergraduate
- Be a Georgia resident
- Meet the academic standards set forth by the college
