All applications to Curtis are required to be filled out through the school’s website. It will require Formal demonstration of competencies and Recommendations which includes both a live audition and a taped performance. ACT/SAT scores and Secondary school record is also recommended as well as transcripts, composers and works that the student has studied extensively, and an essay. A fee of $150 is needed for undergraduate students and $150 for graduate students. Certain departments will require an additional $100 fee for screening.

Applications become available in late summer of the previous year and are due by December 12th. Any submitted after this date are subjected to a $75 late fee. Auditions will take place in February and March with a notification of admittance by April 1st. Accepted students will have to reply with intent by May 1st.

Only 5% of 200 applications are admitted. ten (or 91%) go on to enroll for the following fall.
