Established by the family of Mrs. LaNelle Bassett-Winn in honor of her 83rd birthday. Full-time female junior, senior or graduate student with preference to psychology majors with a focus on counseling and guidance. If a psychology major cannot be found, the recipient may be an education major with a focus on counseling and guidance. If a career is education is not viable, the recipient may have the option of entering the professional guidance and counseling industry. Also, the student must be working towards the current counseling standards and certification and must be employed, active participation in the Reserves, National Guard, or active duty constitutes employment. Additionally, preference will be given to a parent, especially a single parent and must maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA.
