Award Amount: $1,000 per year, renewable up to 4 years. Description: The mission of the Making Connections Program is to bridge the divide of underrepresented populations in higher education and Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) fields. Eligibility: The Habib Making Connections Scholarship was endowed by the Habib family to support underrepresented, economically disadvantaged students pursuing degrees in the Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM) fields. Due to a generous donation from the Habib family, the Making Connections Program will be awarding scholarships to two students each year. In order to qualify for the scholarship students must be: -An alumni of the Making Connections Program -Entering the University of Washington as a Freshmen -From an underrepresented, economically disadvantaged background -A declared major in a STEM field -Demonstrate financial need Service Agreement: In order to renew the scholarship students must maintain a minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA and must have declared a major in science, technology, engineering, or math.
