Leach Family Scholarship
Scholarships within the college are awarded to provide financial support based on need, academic achievement, or other specific scholarship criteria as outlined below. Darrell W. Leach and Marian H. Leach were longtime residents of Grand Junction, Colorado, and had many ties to Colorado’s Western Slope. The scholarship goes to a journalism or business student at the University of Colorado and rotates annually among the College of Communication, Media, Design and Information, the Leeds School of Business and the CU Denver School of Business. Thank you letters should be addressed to John Leach, Jeffery Leach and Kathleen Leach Robbins. Applications are reviewed holistically, and selection criteria may include, but is not limited to, academic record, leadership experience, extracurricular involvement, community service, employment, essays, and in some cases, financial need as determined by the FAFSA/CASFA. Essays: Quality of writing and content are weighed heavily. Financial Need: The FAFSA and the Colorado Application for State Financial Aid (CASFA) are the mechanisms approved for calculating financial need for need-based scholarship awarding. Award: $1,500.00
