School of Music Scholarship'Majors
Each year the School of Music awards scholarships to qualifying incoming freshmen and transfer students who are music majors. The awards of $15,000, $12,000, $10,000, $8,000, and $6,000 are distributed over four years. Requirements: Applicants must currently be studying music with a private instructor, have a minimum high school GPA of 3.0 and a record of good citizenship. Awards are given on a competitive basis and are based on an audition demonstrating musical ability. Distribution and Renewal To qualify for scholarship renewal each semester, the recipient must: 1. Maintain good and regular standing as a university student and music major, taking a full course load (12+ hours). 2. Maintain a minimum university GPA of 3.0. 3. Maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0 in music coursework. 4. Earn grades of B or higher in all MUPF courses. The $15,000 award is distributed at $3,750/year over four years. The $12,000 award is distributed at $3,000/year over four years. The $10,000 award is distributed at $2,500/year over four years. The $8,000 award is distributed at $2,000/year over four years.
