Beinecke Scholarship Program

Amount: $34,000

Deadline: TBD for 2021

If you intend to go to graduate school after you graduate college, you definitely want to apply to the Beinecke Scholarship Program. The scholarship awards $4,000 just before you attend graduate school and another $30,000 while you’re attending.

To be eligible, you must first be a college junior and intend to either pursue a master’s or doctorate program in liberal arts (arts, humanities, and social sciences). You must also show your academic achievement and personal ability throughout college. It’s important to note that you will only qualify if you demonstrate you have received financial aid that was need-based throughout college. The financial need comes heavily into account when it’s time to select a winner.

Only 125 universities and colleges in the United States are eligible, but up to 20 scholarships will be granted each year. However, to actually apply, you have to get in touch with a contact on your school’s campus.

If you live in Chicago or the surrounding areas, a liberal arts scholarship you will want to add to the list is the CRCA Scholarship. You should be a high school senior, already accepted to a program, and have had an ACT composite score of 29 or higher. If you took the SAT, the score should be the equivalent. Your application should include the form, evaluation sheets, high school transcripts, ACT or SAT results, and a letter of recommendation.
