Print and Graphics Scholarship Foundation

Amount: Varies

Deadline: April 1

Administered by the Print and Graphics Scholarship Foundation, this scholarship awards those interested in a career dealing with document management or graphic/media communication. This includes jobs such as web design, print production, workflow specialist, and electronic publishing, among many others.

To be eligible, a student must: maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA, attend an accredited college/university full time, and also be majoring in a relevant field.

AWMF and Loreen Arbus Foundation Scholarship

Amount: $2,500

Deadline: TBD for 2021 (Opens Spring 2021)

This joint partnership scholarship focuses on the contributions of Americans with disabilities. It is awarded to women who are majoring in a field relating to media–such as journalism, English, communications, and other relevant fields.

To apply, students must: submit a 750-1,000 word essay on one of the prompts outlined on their application form, provide a letter of recommendation from a professor in a relevant field, and also submit proof of enrollment.

Dan Klepper Memorial Scholarship

Amount: $2,000

Love the outdoors? Majoring in a media communication field? Check out this scholarship from the Texas Outdoor Writers Association. It awards financial aid to communication students who have a focus on nature conservation, wildlife management/conservation, and other fields related to the outdoors.

Requirements include: being a currently-enrolled communication student (radio, photography, television, electronic media, etc.), submitting a statement of career goals, submitting a summary of outdoor activities/volunteer work, providing a letter of recommendation, providing a college transcript of relevant coursework, and also are providing published work (articles, photograph, etc) samples.

NBC Universal / LNESC Scholarship

Amount: $5,000

Deadline: TBD for 2020

The organization encourages Latino heritage students interested in entertainment media careers to pursue their interests. The organization segments this one-time scholarship into two $2,500 payments, one for each semester.

To be eligible, students must: be a full-time student majoring in a relevant field, be 18 years or older, have at least a 3.0 GPA out of a 4.0 scale, be a college sophomore or junior, submit a college transcript, and also complete the online application.
