Did you know that scholarships and grants aren’t only available from community organizations and the government? So, who offers college grants? Many companies, including Google, Coca-Cola, and Microsoft offer grants and scholarships to students, too – and you don’t necessarily have to be an employee! Here are just a few organizations that offer awards you could apply for.
If you’re interested in computer science and related fields, look into the Generation Google Scholarship. Students are selected based on their demonstrated leadership, academic performance, and commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. Winners in the United States will receive $10,000 USD and those in Canada will win $5,000 CAD. Awards are also available for “women in gaming” and “supply chain and fulfillment.”
To apply, you must NOT BE currently enrolled in any college program and have not been the recipient of other specific Google scholarships or grants. In addition, you should have a solid academic record, show financial need, and intend to study computer science, computer engineering, or something related. Three short essays are required.
Deadline: December 4th, 2022 for the 2023-2024 school year.
Google also has a number of other awards and scholarships available to students including

The 2022 year awards 45 scholarships: four scholarships are worth $20,000 over four years and 41 are $2,500 one-time awards.
In order to apply, the individual should be a high school senior, planning to attend a four year college after graduation, and have a passion for technology. Students need to be going after a bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, business programs, or related majors.
Applications must include:
- Demonstrated leadership abilities
- Transcripts that show a 3.3 GPA or higher
- Demonstrated financial need
- Two letters of recommendation
- A picture of the individual
- Two essays
Deadline: 2022 has already passed. 2023 applications are due March 8th, 2023.
