College Raptor Announces the Two Latest Scholarship Winners!

Iowa City, Iowa — College Raptor proudly announced the newest winners of its $2,500 and $1,000 scholarships: Bronwyn Mogck and Grant Parker!

Bronwyn Mogck is a freshman at Villanova University. She earned the top $2,500 scholarship prize with her essay discussing her personal college search journey and how it was influenced by her dream to become a doctor. Bronwyn emphasized how her intended major of biology drove her to select certain schools, though cost remained a significant factor.

“Without College Raptor, I would’ve assumed that every college would give my family endless financial aid. In reality, this was very far from the case. College Raptor also helped my family understand what a large financial impact college was going to make in our lives,” Bronwyn said in her follow-up Q&A interview. “Thanks to College Raptor, I filled out my FAFSA early, received a SAR, and began applying for financial aid and scholarships, putting me on the path to attend college and afford it.”

$1,000 scholarship winner Grant Parker of Canton, Texas is finishing up high school, but he’s well on his way in the college prep process. In his essay, Grant discussed the elements that went into cultivating his list of potential schools—such as budget, academic compatibility, and location. “College Raptor lets you see exactly how well you will thrive in the school, and how well it matches you and your portfolio. This feature is unique and truly helped me define my list of colleges,” Grant said in his winning essay.

As of right now, Grant has his eyes set on Texas A&M, the University of Texas, or the University of Oklahoma. He plans on studying petroleum engineering, though he is keeping an open mind to other potential majors as well.

“College Raptor’s mission is to make it simple for students to find affordable colleges that fit their goals and personalities. The college process has many factors to consider and Raptor provides the best tools to help students succeed. We are excited to see where Bronwyn’s and Grant’s academic paths take them. Congratulations to them both!” said William Staib, CEO and co-founder of College Raptor.
