A program that focuses on the study of biology, chemistry, geology and physics applied to marine, estuarine and coastal environments. Includes instruction in marine biogeochemistry, atmosphere and ocean dynamics, coastal ecology, coastal ocean processes, microbial ecology, marine ecosystem modeling, and polar microbiology.
For all the 417 degrees awarded in Marine Sciences per year, the majority of them are Masters degree. Of the 34 students graduating with degrees at the Associates degree level in the US, 47% percent identify as women and 53% percent identify as men. While students at schools all over the country study Marine Sciences, North Carolina has the most graduates. The average starting salary for an undergraduate degree in Marine Sciences is $47,533.
