Textile Sciences and Engineering

Textile Sciences and Engineering programs prepare individuals to apply mathematical and scientific principles to the design, development and operational evaluation of systems to test and manufacture fibers and fiber products, both synthetic and natural; to develop new and improved fibers, textiles and their uses; and to the analysis of related engineering problems such as structural factors, molecular synthesis, chemical manufacturing, weaves, strength and stress, useful life, dyes, and applications to composite systems.

For all the 292 degrees granted in Textile Sciences and Engineering annually, the majority of them are Postbaccalaureate certificate. Out of the 28 students graduating with degrees at the Doctors degree research scholarship level across the US, 54% percent identify as women and 46% percent identify as men. Though students at schools all over the US study Textile Sciences and Engineering, North Carolina has the most graduates.
