Anne F. Hamer Scholarship in Music
This scholarship is awarded to a rising junior or senior with a major in music and a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0. Preference is given to students with financial need. The average annual award budget is $1,800. Individual scholarship award amounts may vary. Henry D. Barratt Jr. and Madelin Jones Barratt ’76 established the endowment in 2001 to honor former Professor of Music Anne F. Hamer. Mrs. Hamer taught at Mary Washington from 1944 to 1980 and was chair of the music department from 1972-1978. She passed away in 2008.
