Anthony Blackshear Scholarship
Description: The James Hunter Anthony and Gerald E. Blackshear Scholarships were created in 1996 through an agreement between James Hunter Anthony and Gerald E. Blackshear and the University of Illinois Foundation. The scholarships are awarded to undergraduate students enrolled in the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. The purpose of the James Hunter Anthony and Gerald E. Blackshear Scholarships are to recognize superior academic and leadership qualities, and to encourage further educational studies. Financial need may be considered in determining the recipients. The scholarships will be limited to top students who have graduated from Illinois high schools. Scholarships are renewable for up to 4 years. Criteria Used in Awarding: Incoming freshmen with superior academic and leadership qualities will be considered. Recipients must have graduated from Illinois high school. Recipients must maintain a 3.0 GPA for renewal. Scholarships Are Typically Awarded To: Freshmen
