Ainsworth Memorial Scholarship
Description: The Joseph H. Ainsworth Memorial Fund was created in 1974. The scholarship fund is to be used to provide scholarships for worthy young men and young women who enroll as students at the University of Illinois. The agreement specified that recipients be selected annually with preference to graduates of Havana High School in Mason County, Illinois. It is also desired that a scholarship be given each year to at least one student interested in pursuing a career in veterinarian medicine, considering students from DeKalb County first. This scholarship is renewable for up to four years. Criteria Used in Awarding: Recipients are selected annually, preferably graduates of Havana High School in Mason County, Illinois along with one student interested in pursuing veterinary medicine from Dekalb County. Character, leadership and athletic ability are evaluated along with academic achievement. Scholarships Are Typically Awarded To: Freshmen
