The Ethel Loving de Diaz Scholarship is a $4,500 spring tuition award that recognizes an international undergraduate or graduate student who has resided in for a period of time or matriculated from Mexico who is working to help fund their education. This award is intended for international students who can demonstrate how their work experience has helped finance their education. Students who are the first member of their families to attend university are especially encouraged to apply. In addition to the online application, the following criteria must be met: 1. You must be classified as an international undergraduate or graduate student. 2. You must be registered as a full-time student at UT Austin during the semester in which the scholarship is awarded. 3. Completed part of their preparatory education in Mexico. 4. Enrolled at the time of application and in the semester the award is granted. 5. Maintain satisfactory academic progress (2.0 GPA - undergraduate; 3.0 GPA - graduate). 6. Demonstrate how work experience has helped you fund your education. 7. Not be considered a Texas Resident for tuition purposes. (Exception: those who receive resident tuition due to an academic assignment or university scholarship/fellowship are eligible to apply). Please note that meeting the scholarship eligibility does not guarantee receiving an award. This scholarship is administered and offered by Texas Global. International students are eligible to apply to a variety of scholarships across the University. Also, please note that Texas Global scholarships are one-time awards, and recipients are not guaranteed to receive the scholarship in subsequent years.
