Dr. David Nilsson Scholarship
The Dr. David Nilsson Scholarship provides a $2,000 tuition award for the spring semester to an undergraduate student who has graduated from a high school in Mexico and demonstrates financial need. In addition to the online application, the following criteria must be met: -You must be classified as an international undergraduate student. -You must be registered as a full-time student at UT Austin during the semester in which the scholarship is awarded. -Admitted to UT Austin as an undergraduate student. -Graduated from a high school in Mexico. -Be able to demonstrate financial need. -Maintain a minimum 2.0 GPA for the duration of the award. Priority is given to students who: -Graduated from a high school in Tejupilco or Querétaro. -Intend on returning to Mexico. -Are not eligible to receive a waiver of the nonresident portion of tuition. -Are not eligible to fill out FAFSA or receive state or federal financial aid. Please note that meeting the scholarship eligibility does not guarantee receiving an award. This scholarship is administered and offered by Texas Global. International students are eligible to apply to a variety of scholarships across the University. We encourage students to connect with their advisor and college/school to learn about other opportunities. Also, please note that Texas Global scholarships are one-time awards, and recipients are not guaranteed to receive the scholarship in subsequent years.
