The Margaret Bansau Trust Scholarship was established in 2001 through the estate of Margaret Bansau, who designated Illinois State University to be a recipient of a charitable trust. -Renewable: No -Need-based: Yes -Essay: Please discuss your commitment to teaching students who have disabilities. If applicable, describe why you left a teaching position to pursue a special education certification. Please limit your response to no more than 500 words. -GPA: 3.0 Cumulative -Class: Entering Undergraduate or graduate students -Major: Pursuing initial certification in the Department of Special Education -Additional Preferences: Preference will be given to non-traditional students who have left a teaching or teaching assistant position to pursue initial certification in special education Current Students: Complete this application by December 31, 2023 (notified by March 31) Currently enrolled students in a teacher education major are eligible. Graduate Students: Complete this application by December 31, 2023 (notified by March 31) Graduate students admitted to a College of Education major who will first enroll in Spring, Summer, or Fall 2024 are eligible.
