The James and Edith Aagesen Ward Family Trust Memorial Scholarship Endowment was established in 2002 by James Ward, who created the scholarship just prior to his death with the hope that those who benefit from it will ""gladly teach,"" as he and his wife, Edith, did. -Renewable: Yes, contingent on award criteria -Need-based: Yes -Recommendation: One. Be nominated by written recommendation of a faculty member; letter should speak to candidate's demonstrated commitment and skills for teaching mentally handicapped students. -GPA: 3.0 Cumulative -Class: Junior or senior -Major: Department of Special Education -Preferences: Full time -Additional Preferences: Demonstrate commitment and skills to teach mentally handicapped students -Additional Preferences: Be a graduate from a public high school in Illinois Current Students: Complete this application by December 31, 2023 (notified by March 31) Currently enrolled students in a teacher education major are eligible.
