The George Manus Endowed Memorial Scholarship was established in memory of George Manus, who graduated from Illinois State Normal University in 1929 with a major in elementary education. -Renewable: Yes, contingent on GPA -Need-based: No -Essay: Please describe your plans to teach after college and explain why you would like to teach in Chicago. Please limit your response to no more than 500 words. -Recommendation: From an educator familiar with the student's goals and achievements. -GPA: 3.75 High School -Class: New freshmen or transfer students -Major: Department of Special Education or School of Teaching and Learning -Preferences: Have an ACT composite score no lower than 25 and no higher than 27.9 -Additional Preferences: Reside in Chicago and plan to return to Chicago to teach Current Students: Complete this application by December 31, 2023 (notified by March 31) Currently enrolled students in a teacher education major are eligible.
