This scholarship is managed by Beauty Changes Lives, a non-profit that focuses on raising awareness about cosmetology, and how careers in this industry can help to transform peoples’ professional and personal lives.
Beauty Changes Lives offers multiple awards for different cosmetology sub-specialties. These scholarships are funded in association with the American Association of Cosmetology Schools and the other partners. Check out some of the scholarships that you can apply for depending on the cosmetology field you wish to specialize in.
- Ratner Companies Passion & Purpose Scholarship: $3,125 to 4 new or currently enrolled cosmetology students.
- MUD Make-Up Designory: $2,500 to 5 students currently enrolled or applying to a cosmetology or esthetics program.
- European Wax Center| Unapologetic You: 44,250 to 12 students currently enrolled in a cosmetology & esthetics program.
- Amazing Lash Studio: $2,250 to 5 students studying esthetics.
Some of these scholarships require applicants to send in a video showcasing their skills and experience, while others require applicants to write an essay on a given topic or create an inspiration board.
This scholarship is administered by the PBA (Professional Beauty Association) and NCA (The National Cosmetology Association). Both of these organizations administer several other beauty and cosmetology scholarships worth several thousands of dollars each. Individual contributors set up trust funds and hand them over to the PBA and/ or the NCA for management and identification of potential candidates. This is one such scholarship.
The scholarship awards $1,000 each to seven high school graduates who wish to enter into this profession. It also provides six scholarships worth $500 each for current members of these associations who are working towards continuing their education in the field of cosmetology.
This scholarship is also managed by the Professional Beauty Association (PBA) and is sponsored by the Minerva Beauty Company. The PBA manages the funds of the trust, takes up the administrative duties and identifies suitable recipients for the scholarship.
This scholarship aims to offer financial support to students enrolled currently in cosmetology school. Potential candidates must have completed at least one semester with a minimum GPA of 3.0 to be eligible for this scholarship. Winners receive $1,000 towards their cosmetology education.
The Alice Madden Barton Scholarship is administered by the Great Clips Inc. and is intended for high school seniors who are going to graduate or for those who are enrolled wither in barbering school or cosmetology institute. It aims to provide financial assistance to those students who exhibit both skill and passion for cosmetology and wish to pursue a career in it. The scholarships amounts vary, but the average amount is about $500.
