AFA National Leader and Academic Scholarship

Amount: $2,600

Deadline: March 11, 2020

The Agriculture Future of America established the AFA Leader and Academic Scholarship program to provide financial assistance to future leaders in agriculture. To apply for this award of up to $2,600, you must be a graduating high school senior planning to enroll in a 4-year degree program or currently enrolled college student in a 4-year degree program in a university in Nebraska, Illinois, Kentucky, Ohio, Indiana or Iowa.

All applicants must be planning to major in a field related to agriculture and must also have at least a 3.0 GPA.

Belles of the American Royal (BOTAR) Presidents Scholarship 

Amount: $3,200

Deadline: March 11, 2020

The Belles of the American Royal (BOTAR) Organization, in partnership with the Agriculture Future of America (AFA), offers four $3,200 awards every year.

Only female students pursuing a 4-year degree in Agriculture Education or related fields in the Midwest are eligible to apply for this scholarship. All applicants must also meet additional criteria as listed on the AFA website. Though not mandatory, listing any voluntary work or involvement in the American Royal could also boost your chances of winning this award.

Edward J. Daly Scholarship

Amount: $1,000

Deadline: March 2, 2020

Established by California State University, Stanislaus, the Edward J. Daly Scholarship is reserved for CSU and Stanislaus students who also have a strong interest in pursuing a career in agriculture business.

Applicants for this $1,000 award must also submit an essay that answers the question, ‘Do you have a strong interest in agriculture business as a career’?

Bowling Green State University

Amount: Varies

Deadline: Spring

Bowling Green State University offers multiple scholarships to undergrad students who have enrolled in programs related to biological sciences. Plant science students are eligible to apply to these two scholarships among others:

The Multicultural Student Scholarship: This is reserved for minority Biology students. Applicants must have a 3.0 GPA minimum. Additionally, they must show evidence of leadership potential through participation in university or departmental activities.

The Waldo and Evelyn Steidtmann Scholarship: This non-renewable award is available to an outstanding junior or senior majoring in Biology. Applicants must also have at least a 3.3 GPA. Preference is also given to an outstanding student in the plant sciences.
