All colleges encourage students to talk to them and ask them questions at any time before, during, or after the application process and this is something you should take advantage of.
The first and foremost reason why you should talk to a college before applying is to get clarifications on anything you are not clear about. While most colleges have the pertinent information on their website, it is impossible to provide detailed information about every course they provide. The only way you can get the information for the course you are interested in is by calling and asking.
Do you need more information about the admission requirements and curriculum details about one or more programs that you are interested in? If you cannot find the details on the website, call the college and ask.
Financial Aid Office
You can (and probably should) talk to a college’s financial aid office before you apply. They can give you information on how their award packages work, and maybe give you an idea of what sort of aid you might receive. It’s always beneficial to ask questions about how you can pay for college.
You must keep in mind that putting together an application is not just time-consuming, it is also costly. It would be a waste of time and money to work on an application for a particular college only to find that it is not the right fit for you.
