LMJ Scholarship Program
Amount: $10,000
Deadline: June 17, 2020
Dedicated to diversity and inclusion in the field of corporate law, this scholarship awards promising students who have overcome adversity. Students who are entering their first year of law school, full-time, are encouraged to apply.
To be eligible, students must: show proof of acceptance into an ABA-approved school, submit the FAFSA, demonstrate financial need, perform community service, have an undergraduate GPA of 3.2 or higher, submit transcripts, write an essay, provide two recommends.
The George H. Nofer Scholarship for Law and Public Policy
Amount: $5,000 (renewable)
Deadline: April 10, 2020
This scholarship targets students overcoming pre-lingual bilateral hearing loss. The Alexander Graham Bell Association for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing offers the scholarship. The association gifts financial aid to those pursuing a law degree.
To apply to these scholarships, eligible students attend an accredited mainstream law school or a master’s or doctoral program in public policy or public administration. Additionally, students use listening and spoken language as their main form of communication. Furthermore, students have mild to severe pre-lingual bilateral hearing loss.
Martin Luther King, Jr. Scholarship
Amount: $1,000
Deadline: TBD for 2021 (Opens Fall 2020)
This scholarship honors the late Martin Luther King, Jr. The award highlights minority students who are pursuing an education in the field of criminal justice. An ACA member nominates the student. However, the student themselves need not be a member.
Furthermore, the scholarship requires students to submit the nomination form. Also, students showing proof of acceptance to a graduate program, demonstrating financial need, and showing academic achievement are considered. Additionally, writing an essay about the ideas of Martin Luther King, Jr. is the final step to eligibility.
Ritchie-Jennings Memorial Scholarship
Amount: $1000, $2500, $5000, $10,000
Deadline: TBD for 2021-2022
Dreaming of a career in fraud examination? The RJM scholarship paves the way towards that goal. Additionally, the Association of Fraud Examiners offers scholarships and sees some of its recipients become accomplished, anti-fraud professionals.
To apply, the scholarship requires an undergrad to be enrolled in at least 9 semester hours. Additionally, if a grad student, the student requires 6 semester hours. Also, eligible applicants need to be enrolled in an accredited four-year institution and provide 3 letters of recommendation. Furthermore, the scholarship mandates that the student declares a major or minor in accounting, business administration, or criminal justice.
LimNexus Scholarship
Amount: $2,500
Deadline: September 7, 2020
The National Asian Pacific American Bar Association (NAPABA) offers financial aid to students studying law. Additionally, students qualify by dedicating to serving the Asian Pacific American community.
In addition, students must: be enrolled at an ABA or AALS accredited school. Also, they take interest in pro bono, public interest or public service legal work. Furthermore, students demonstrating financial need, and show potential, leadership, and maturity will be considered.
