Congratulations to winner Alexandra Szewc (top) and runner-up winner, Jack Do (bottom).Iowa City, IA — College Raptor selects Alexandra Szewc from New Jersey, as a $2,500 scholarship winner and Jack Do, a Georgia resident, as a $1,000 scholarship winner in the College Raptor Scholarship Program.

Alexandra Szwec attends the Academy for Mathematics, Science, and Engineering where she has fostered her love for STEM and is continuing this passion by pursuing Biomedical Engineering at Johns Hopkins University in the fall.

In her essay, Szwec described wanting to make a well-rounded college decision; she wished to take into account the cost of college, availability of her desired major, and location. “College Raptor is able to offer options that not only reflect the academic caliber and personal preferences of each student, but also the options that are feasible for each student and their families to handle financially.”

Alexandra Szwec thanked College Raptor for ultimately helping her find the university that was best for her. “I feel that having such an excellent resource to guide me through the application and admissions process was an influential advantage in choosing a school best suited to my goals.”

In his final year at Archer High School in Lawrenceville, Georgia, Jack Do found the most challenging part of the college application process to be financial aid. He described the many online resources-even those provided by colleges- to be “unreliable” and “vague in providing adequate financial aid information and eligibility.”

When asked about College Raptor, Do responded that of the options provided by his school and alternative college-help websites, College Raptor “provided the most concise and accurate financial aid information for all the schools [he was] interested in on one compiled database.” Do then only applied to the schools that he knew met his financial standards and states that College Raptor “ultimately facilitated [his] college application process.”

Do plans to continue his education at Georgia Institute of Technology, where he is hoping to complete a biomedical engineering degree and a minor in computer science.

Our mission is to make it easy for families to find great, affordable colleges so students can reach their dreams. The college process has a lot of pieces to consider so Raptor focuses on providing the best tools to help students succeed. We congratulate Alexandra and Jack, and wish them well as they begin their college journeys,” says William Staib, CEO and co-founder of College Raptor.
