Hoping to find a position in human resources after graduating from college? If you’re pursuing a degree in human resources or a related business field, don’t worry. There are plenty of scholarships out there that you might qualify for. Check out these three for starters.
SHRM Undergraduate Scholarships
Amount: $2,500
Deadline: August 15, 2020
The Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) hosts multiple scholarships for undergraduate and graduate students. Students interested in applying to these scholarships must be an SHRM member. Students must also have a minimum 3.0 GPA and major in a field related to HR.
To apply, students must: fill out an application, provide their transcript, resume, and one letter of recommendation, and complete short answer questions.
Fukunaga Scholarship Foundation
Amount: $5,000 per year
Deadline: TBD for 2021
If you live in Hawaii, you definitely want to consider the Fukunaga Scholarship Foundation by Servco. This scholarship is available for students currently majoring in business administration or related fields. The scholarship is awarded for four years, with $5,000 awarded each year. Though this scholarship is generally for students high school seniors and college freshmen, other students can still apply. However, award amounts may vary depending on your circumstances.
Students need a few things to qualify and need to maintain their academic status. Students need to be a full-time student and have at least a 3.0 GPA (though there are some exceptions). In addition, winners need to show that they will pursue an eventual business career in Hawaii. The scholarship asks students for their FAFSA, any forms, their transcripts, their ACT or SAT scores, and two letters of recommendation. The scholarship selects winners based on leadership skills, financial need, interviews, and academic achievements.
About 10 students are given this scholarship every year.
Jane M. Klausman Women in Business Scholarship

Awarded by Zonta International, the Jane M. Klausman Women in Business Scholarship program gives up to 32 scholarships within the United States. Even better, the Jane M. Klausman Women in Business scholarship awards 6 scholarships internationally. United States student applicants may win $2,000 and international student applicants may win $8,000 USD.
Women in their sophomore year of college or higher are welcome to apply. Applicants should be enrolled in college full time. Additionally, applicants need to show potential, initiative, ambition, and outstanding academic achievements. Each application must have two recommendations, any included forms, an essay describing your business-related goals in 500 words or less, and transcripts. Winners will be chosen based on their application, essays, and demonstrated potential.
If you want to major or have a career in Human Resources, these three scholarships are a great place to start. In addition to these three scholarships, make sure you’re doing your own research. For example, scholarship databases and local resources such as your high school guidance counselor’s office.
