Whether you’re a sophomore in high school or a senior in college, your life is full of attending classes, working on homework, extracurricular activities, hanging out with friends, and squeezing in family time when you can. We all have so much going on and it can sometimes be hard to keep track of where you’re supposed to be and when. A student planner can help keep your schedule organized.
It can be handy to keep all due dates, event times, goals, timelines, and notes in one convenient place. That way you don’t have to scramble with sticky notes, or accidentally erase something on a whiteboard. Haven’t kept a planner before? Now is the perfect time to start. It never hurts to try a new organizational method out.
Confession: I am a planner and organization junkie. I carry my LifePlanner with me everywhere, along with a bag of pens–for color coding. I also keep an electronic version, thanks to Google Calendar, and it’s so full it looks like confetti exploded on my phone/laptop screen. I’m telling you this because I understand how important finding the right student planner is. Hours of research went into my first big planner purchase, and my guess is (if you’re reading this post) you’re a bit like me.
So, without further ado, here’s my list of the 7 best planners for students:
LifePlanner by Erin Condren
The LifePlanner was my first mega planner purchase and I love it. If everything in your life is organized by color, this is the planner for you. You can also add on stickers of all shapes and sizes. You can find stickers on Etsy that are the same size and shape of the boxes in the LifePlanner. Washi tape is another great addition.

Additionally, this Lemome planner comes with some physical perks. An elastic strap keeps everything together, two ribbons can mark your place, you can fit small notes or business cards in the cover pocket, and there’s even a holder for your favorite pen!
This college planner comes in four great colors: brown (pictured here), blue, gray, and purple. It even has multiple size options! You can choose between 5.75″ x 8.25″ or 8.5″ x 11 if you want a larger planner option.

The Happy Planner-Student Edition by Me & My Big Ideas
The Happy Planner is the creative student’s dream planner. You literally make it all you want it to be, and can add or remove pages at any time. It’s basically a scrapbook that functions as a student planner.
Though this particular one’s undated, it comes with monthly divider stickers so you can truly customize your planner whenever you get it! If you really wanted a dated version, though, there are dated options available in a plethora of designs and colors. The Happy Planner has both weekly and monthly views. It also has colorful and inspirational messages throughout.
It comes in three different sizes—Big (9” x 11.25”), Standard (7.75″ x 9.75″), and Mini (4.625″ x 7″). The bigger sizes might be ideal for more note-taking space, but a mini option can fit in your bag and not take up space. It all depends on you and what you want out of your planner.
Mead is a well-recognized staple when it comes to school products. Folders, notebooks, binders, and even academic planners—Mead has it all. The Academic Year Weekly & Monthly planners come in a few eye-catching designs, with various colors and patterns to give it a touch of personality without being overbearing or obnoxious. There’s whole pages dedicated to note taking, and the planner also comes with a yearly overview page. There are even spots for future planning. It’s a note-taker’s dream.
