Many colleges offer a handful of ways to tour their campuses. With different options, it can be tough to know what type of tour you should take. Traditional tours are a great stepping stone to figuring out where you would like to go to college.

What are traditional tours?

Typically, traditional tours are led by a student tour guide and consists of other potential students and their families in a group setting. The size of the group can vary depending on how many other students are visiting the school at the same time. Touring the school with other families can be beneficial, as they may think of questions for the tour guide you might not have previously considered asking.

Why you should visit a college

Going on a campus tour can allow you to really picture yourself walking from one class to another, and help you find out if the school feels “right” for you or not. While a campus may seem great online, actually visiting can spark your intuition into knowing what is right for you as an individual.

They may be able to give you brochures of relevant information, or just ease any concerns you may have.
